We observed no significant differences in the severity of postoperative complications (according to the Clavien–Dindo classification) between the three groups of study participants treated using different regimens. The incidence of relapses was 6 % in the LMH + CT group vs 17.3 % in the ST group (p &lt;0.0011) and 10.9 % in the CT group (p = 0.1258). Relapse-free survival rates were significantly higher in patients receiving LMH + CT than in patients who had ST alone: 59.4 % vs 51 % (p = 0.04). Difference in relapse-free survival between the CT and ST groups was not significant (56.5 % vs 51 %, respectively, p = 0.07). The frequency of therapeutic pathomorphosis was significantly higher (p &lt;0.00001) in the LMH + CT group than in the CT group (14.9 % and 1.5 %, respectively).</p><p><bold>Conclusions.</bold> LMH has a universal radiosensitizing potential that can increase tumor radiosensitivity and improve treatment outcomes.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Цель исследования</bold> – оценить эффективность комбинированного метода лечения больных раком дистальных отделов прямой кишки стадий сT3N0M0 и сT2–3N1–2M0 в условиях короткого курса неоадъювантной термолучевой терапии по сравнению с одной лучевой терапией и хирургическим лечением.</p><p><bold>Материалы и методы.</bold> У 166 пациентов проведена 3-кратная локальная сверхвысокочастотная гипертермия (СВЧ ГТ) при температуре 43–45 °С в течение 60 мин на фоне короткого курса лучевой терапии (СВЧ ГТ + КЛ), у 138 пациентов – комбинированное лечение с использованием одной предоперационной лучевой терапии (КЛ), и у 197 – только хирургическое лечение (ХЛ).</p><p><bold>Результаты.</bold> При использовании СВЧ ГТ + КЛ общая частота осложнений составила 38,6 % и не имела достоверных отличий от аналогичных показателей при ХЛ (p = 0,8464) и КЛ (p = 0,5383). Также не отмечено достоверных различий при 3 вариантах лечения и в тяжести послеоперационных осложнений по классификации D. Dindo и соавт. Частота рецидивов составила 6 % в группе СВЧ ГТ + КЛ по сравнению с 17,3 % в группе ХЛ (p &lt;0,0011) и 10,9 % в группе КЛ (p = 0,1258). Безрецидивная выживаемость была достоверно выше в группе СВЧ ГТ + КЛ по сравнению с группой ХЛ: 59,4 и 51 % соответственно (p = 0,04). Различия в безрецидивной выжимаемости в группах КЛ и ХЛ не были достоверными (56,5 и 51 % соответственно, p = 0,07).
